First I must explain the name. My son was always small for his age and acquired the name "Mini" when he began playing football. Of course I then became known as "Mini's Mum". His nickname has stayed with him through the intervening 12 years and his friends still refer to me as "Mini's Mum".
I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. I have made up wedding and bridesmaid dresses, cushions, curtains and lampshades. I also completed a City and Guilds course at College, when my children started school.
When my son bought his Mini City, I decided to revamp the interior. He wanted a star-burst design, in blue and yellow mixed with plain navy. However the fabric faded dramatically after several years, so now it is all in leather.
After re-doing his interior, I have replaced the one in our Mini Cooper, again in all leather. The seats have chequered panels of blue and turquoise with a dark grey surround.
Everyone who has seen Rufus or Ernie (the Minis) say how smart they look.
I am based in the village of Brixworth, in Northamptonshire (post code NN6) and all work is undertaken at my home.
